Restructuring/Downsizing Consulting

As a true partner with our customers on issues of change, Challenger Gray, & Christmas provides complete and comprehensive outplacement services covering company support before any layoff and employee support once notification has occurred. These services are the due diligence of a partner and are typically included in the cost of support. As the leader in outplacement, Challenger has developed, enhanced, and streamlined programs for maximum effectiveness. Throughout the outplacement process we provide a spectrum of support as planner, collaborator, coach, communicator, trainer, motivator and overall facilitator. This includes being involved before, during and after the termination.

Layoff Planning and Management

We work closely with your HR team in planning the layoff including determining program and service needs, implementation planning, logistics, defining special reporting requirements, and training managers on the event. We ask the critical questions about outcome and process, based on our specialized experience in outplacement which get you to the optimal and most cost-effective solutions.

Communications Strategy Support

Our team is available to help plan your internal and external communication when you are conducting a layoff. We can help guide communications with all parties affected by the layoff including fellow employees, families, the community and the press. We are also able to provide seminars to your employees about what to do and what not to do following notification.

Notification Training and Day of Notification Support

We provide training to your management team when they are faced with conducting a layoff. We work with them to ensure the termination meetings are conducted professionally in a manner that maintains the departing employee’s dignity and minimizes the possibility of legal action against the company.

Account Management

Our organizational structure is set up to be customer focused by utilizing a centralized account management structure. By centralized we mean that you have one main contact at Challenger called your Primary Account Manager who oversees all customer requests/needs. The Primary Account Manager coordinates with Secondary Account Managers and local Offices & Coaches to ensure consistent and timely delivery of services. By having a centralized Account Management function, it allows our customers to have exceptional service and guaranteed response times. Our Customers have one main point of contact for all service inquiries, billing questions, upcoming event planning conversations, etc. The Account Manager is then able to coordinate the proper Challenger resources to meet your needs.

Employee Tracking and Reports

Each Coach is required to record every conversation and meeting with a Client. This information is kept in our customized client management system program, allowing us to provide you with real-time reporting on the progress of all employees you refer to us. Our customers are able to easily see who is using the program and who has landed new employment.

Satisfaction Surveys and Results

We survey our Clients throughout their program with us to ensure quality control. We also use these surveys to evaluate our Coaches’ performance as well as to ensure that our programs are fitting the needs of the employees you refer to us. Our customers are also able to see our program effectiveness and satisfaction through these results.

Responsiveness
